How would You use the Scientific Method?

* While walking in the nature center this afternoon, one of your friends finds a spiky looking object in the dirt. He picks it up. You happen to be looking on and notice that it looks like pictures you've seen of Tyranosaur teeth. On one hand, it would probably be a good idea to tell your parents about the find and then have paleontologists take a look at the rest of the nature center to find more fossils. But on the other hand, this is the first chance you've ever had to discover dinosaur bones by yourself! What would you do? How would you go about finding more fossils?
