- Live Access to Climate Data from the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, Seattle provides on-the-fly browsing, visualization, and retrieval of climate data.
- Catalogue of the Benthic Marine Algae of the Indian Ocean contains all published records of benthic marine algae from the Indian Ocean excluding the Red Sea. They are assembled in a catalogue with the taxa arranged according to an assumed phylogenetic scheme to the rank of order.
- Scripps Institution of Oceanography a part of the University of California, San Diego, is one of the oldest, largest, and most important centers for marine science research and graduate training in the world.
- University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute is part of a national network of 29 university-based programs of research, outreach, and education dedicated to the protection and sustainable use of the United States' ocean and Great Lakes resources.
- Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is the largest independent marine science research facility in the United States. It is dedicated to the study of all aspects of marine science and to the education of marine scientists.
