Welcome to my web page.  I am an associate professor in the Department of Biology at Carleton, where I teach Introductory Biology  (Biol-126), Human Physiology (Biol 232) and Neurobiology (Biol 386).  I help lead the Carleton Interdisciplinary Science and Math Initiative.   I am interested in how the nervous system acquires, processes, and relays information. I approach this subject by studying the cellular mechanisms underlying sensory transduction and synaptic transmission in various sensory systems.
