Here's another vertical wall of ripple marks.
On our way to the lunch stop in the town park we filled our water
bottles at the "famous" Rock Spring.
Lunch time!
Then it was over to the south limb of the quartzite fold to see what the
orientation of the bedding was there. It was much less steep, and dipping
the other way. Good cross bedding too.
The phyllite was interbedded in interesting ways.
Cam and Clint led a discussion on the contorted beds. Luckily,
the snow held off until we got back in the bus.
Since the weather was nasty and cold we made a motivational/cultural stop at the
"gallery" of Dr. Evermore, who creates sculpture out of scrap materials. This machine,
the gallery's centerpiece, is The Forevertron, designed to propel souls into heaven.
And this is Dr. Evermore himself, aka Tom Every, explaining his work to us.
