One of the first things we learned in Coldigioco was that Italy has its superheros too. Sandro and Paula's son Max (at left) conquered crime every day, this day in the persona of Batman.

We stopped on a high ridge over the valley with the town of San Vittore in it to get a broad view of a mapping area.

Dave and Kevin discussing an outcrop.

Lunch at the refugio at Passo Valles.

If you were in doubt as to which way to go at the top of the pass, a helpful sign would show you the way. The numbers designate various trail routes.

Our stalwart lab assistants, Kristin and Davie.

On the way up the long climb to Passo San Nicolo Dave stopped to give an overview of the area.

Pat checking the orientation of the rocks at Passo San Nicolo.

Tom and Joanna worked together to figure out the structural history of the Passo San Nicolo area.
