FF-CAMPUS STUDY

Taking time for an off-campus program may help expand your thinking beyond a purely academic approach to sociology and anthropology, and thereby give you a different understanding of what it really means to "study" another culture. There are many options for off-campus study in sociology and anthropology. If you are creative enough, you can put a social scientific slant into almost any program you choose. Programs commonly chosen by SOAN majors include the Lancaster Program, the Inter-Collegiate Sri Lanka Program, various China and Japan programs, the ACM program in India, Urban Studies in Chicago, and Latin American Culture and Society or Tropical Field Research programs in Costa Rica. You can get information about these and other off-campus programs from the Office of Off-Campus Studies in Laird Hall.
